Bell 407

The first production 407 flew in 1995.Utilising a four-bladed main rotor hub developed for the OH-58D, the blades and hub use a composite construction providing better performance and a more comfortable ride over the two bladed 206. Coupled with an 813SHP Allison 250-C47 engine, the aircraft is incredibly capable, particularly in a hot & high environment. The 407's airframe is similar to that of the LongRanger, but includes a carbon fiber composite tailboom. Variants include the GX, GXP and GXi essentially incorporating more powerful 250-C47 engines and upgrades to the Garmin G1000 avionics suite.
